How to Prepare Coconut Milk Rice

   Coconut  rice | Thengai sadam | Kobbari Rice is a common and staple food in South India especially in Tamil Nadu. Freshly grated coconut would be great to try this rice. As the festival season is here we have already started to plan our navratri Menu. Apart from the usual festival rice varieties like Lemon rice, Puliyodharai(tamarind rice) we also prepare coconut rice very often.This is a very simple variety rice to prepare, if you have grated coconut in hand it hardly takes few minutes to prepare this Variety rice. In Andhra also we prepare this tasty recipe in festivals or lunch time special to prepare this little bit spicy rice.....
    I’ll let you in on a little secret, I almost always prefer the sides of a meal to the main dish. So I've been doing a lot of research on how others handle meal planning. I do feel like being successful with meal planning requires a personal customized approach. In the meantime, I'd like to share one of my favorite easy weeknight side dishes, this delicious coconut rice recipe. Have you ever cooked with coconut milk? Coconut milk rice really doesn't have an overwhelmingly sweet and coconutty flavor like you're probably imagining right now -- it's just rich and filling, with a bit of creaminess to it. To be clear, I'm referring to the coconut milk that comes in a can, not coconut water or coconut milk beverages, which are totally different. It is also an easy lunch box recipe which can be make very quick in the busy mornings. So lets see the process to prepare this tasty and delicious recipe here...... 

Ingredients :-
  • Rice 1 cup (Soak)
  • Coconut milk 1 1/2 cup
  • Water 1/2 cup
  • Green chilies 8
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Red chilles 4
  • Oil & Ghee 8 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Cashew nuts 8
  • Onions 1
  • Cinnamon 3 pieces
  • Cloves 4
  • Cardamom 3
  • Coriander leaves
  • Curry leaves
 How to Prepare Coconut Milk Rice
Method :-
  1. First take a cooker add oil and ghee to heat it. And then add whole cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, red chilies to fry it for. 
  2. Next add ginger garlic paste fry it 2 minutes, and then add chopped onions fried it for lite golden colour.
  3. And now add green chili pieces fry it for 1 minute. Then add salt, coriander, curry leafs and mix well and then fry  it for  2 minutes.
  4. And then  add coconut milk, water and then mix it well, and now put the lid and then boil it for one boil. 
  5. When the milk is boiled, and then add soaked rice and mix it well. And again put the lid and then cook it for the boil rice in medium flame.
  6. Next take a pan add ghee to heat, and then add cashew nuts to fry it for lite color and then move to a plate.
  7. Next the rice is boiled  80% and then dum the rice to cook for 15 to 20 minutes in low flame.
  8. When the rice is boiled and then move to a bowl, now add fried cashew nuts, fresh coriander leaves and then serve it hot.
Now the dish is ready to tasty.. Its  so yummy and be little sweet. Its so good to be, and the preparation also so easy, So lets try this tasty recipe in your home.. And enjoy the taste.
