How to Make Yam Roast Andhra Style

      Hi friends good after noon to all, today one different easy to make one recipe Yam Fry..... I like to eat, potato, taro root, sweet potato... in same breed veg is Yam (Kanda) is the most loved veggie of mine. I love it so much, You could give this whatever twist you like, it still taste great. I feel like this is kind of a meaty veg. And it can take whatever masala you put to them beautifully. Amma makes a simple yam curry's like yam curry, yam fry, yam roast, yam masala coconut paste gravy,, etc..., in my childhood my amma prepare this monthly twice , when i went to my school,  my amma prepare this for me lunch, that my  lunch box is not mine... that day all my friends take amy lunch box they are eat it... ha ha ha.... Those are sweet memories right guys...... I thick all my views memories are back to school right... Almost those days are golden to me..... Me and my amma & my grand mother there prepare daily spl to me.. Yams gives potassium and fiber and good source of Vitamin C and B6. It is cooking process is very easy at home. In below we are giving simple and tasty Yam fry recipe of ingredients and method. Here is a South Indian Style Yam Roast made healthy by frying method! So try this and let me know if you try it.. :)

Ingredients :-

  • Yam 200 grams
  • Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Red chilies 2
  • Oil for deep fry
  • Oil 3 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • Red chili powder 2 tsp
  • Coriander powder 1 tsp
  • Garlic cloves 3
  • Curry leafs
Preparation :-


  1. First take yam wash it, then remove the skin, then cut it into small cubes, then again wash it....

  2. Take a bowl, cover it with water, yam cubes, salt, turmeric powder, then cook this till the yam is tender. Yam is totally boiled then drain and set a side...

  3. Now put the pan to heat, when pan is heated then add oil to heat (for fry).. Then add boiled yam cubes fry it for lite gold color...

  5. Then take pan add oil to heat, then add mustard seeds, red chili pieces to fry.

  6. Now add fried yam cubes into, mix it well.. for 5 minutes in medium flame..After 5 minutes add red chili powder, salt, garlic pieces, coriander powder again mix it well for..

  7. When all the ingredients are coated then move it to a serving bowl and then serve it with side dish for Tmato dal ( tomato Pappu), rasam, sambar etc....,
