Andhra Sunnundalu (Black Gram laddu)

   Laddu is a sweet delicacy prepared not only south India but all over India and South Asia, for festivals and special occasions. Different types of laddus are made using different key ingredients such as Bengal gram, dhal(chickpea), flour ( besan), wheat flour, semolina (suji or rava ) and so on. Now today we prepare  Minappa Sunnundalu (Urad Dal Laddu) is a traditional Andhra sweet dish that is simple to prepare. Can be stored in an air tight container for at least 2 weeks. Sunni vunda/Sunnunda is Andhra Pradesh's famous laddu. It is very simple and you can just prepare it instantly. It is considered as the energy food. My grand mother used to say that it is must for the kids and teenagers. Generally Kids and teenagers are more prone to hunger than the middle age and old age people. This is because they require lot more energy to built muscles, bones etc.,  you can prepare this laddu and enjoy with your family members. This preparation is so simple and easy... Ingredients :-

  • Black gram  (Minumullu) 2 cups
  • Sugar 2 cups 
  • Ghee 1/4 cup
     
Preparation :-

  • Black gram with husk dal fry for good smell. (Nice aroma get a it a side.) After it cool then grind it fine powder.
        
  • Next grind sugar also fine powder. Now mix together black gram powder, sugar powder mix it well.
         
  • Slowly add melted ghee and keep mixing with hands, till the mix holds together and shape them round. (The ghee should be just enough to hold the powders together.
