Today different and tasty pappu recipe (Dal recipe) Menthu kura Pappu is a very nutritious Andhra dal dish that calls for the use of tur dal and fresh methi leaves. First thing one notices about fresh fenugreek is how beautiful and delicate the leaves are. Then the smell, aromatherapy in truest sense, when pressure cooked with toor dal or sautéed with potatoes, any other vegetable, the leaves release wonderful fragrance. Fenugreek is one of those green leafy veggies, looks innocently innocuous but when cooked, dazzles & grabs your attention by its wonderful aroma and makes you try and like it. For a dal-rice addict like me, nothing beats the taste of rice and dal made of fresh fenugreek leaves. Very tasty and nutrititous, it’s one of my favorite foods. Fenugreek and toor dal combination is a true and tested recipe, very popular in our Andhra (Nellore) & Raayala seema region of Andhra, again one of those I learned from my mother. Ingredients :-

  • Toor dal 1 cup
  • Fenugreek leaves 2 cup or 2 bunches 
  • Onions 2
  • Tomatoes 3
  • Green chilies 8
  • Tamarind lemon size
  • Red chili powder 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil 6 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • Urad dal 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves
  • Red chilies 2
  • Hing 2 pinches

Preparations :-

  1. First take a cooker add toor dal, fenugreek leaves, tomato pieces, chopped onions, chopped green chilies, turmeric powder, red chili powder, tamarind, water 1 glass and then close with lid and cook it for 4 to 5 vissels.....
  2. After 5 vissels switch off the gas and then put a side for 10 minutes it will be cool......

  3. Next open the lid and then, add salt to taste and then mash it well for.........

  5. Now take a wok add oil to heat, oil is heated then add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leafs, red chili pieces, hing to fry.....

  1. First take a bowl add oil / ghee to heat, then add shahjeera, cloves, bay leaf, cinnamon, cardamoms, cashew nuts to fry... Then add chopped onions mint leafs to fry....
  2. When onions are fried, then add chopped carrots and then fry for 5 minutes in low flame.......
  3. And then add tomatoes, chopped potato pieces, green chilies again mix it well for... Fry for 3 minutes, then add ginger garlic paste also again fry it for good smell.....
  4. Then add soaked rice, mix it care and then fry it for 2 minutes in low flame.......

        Today recipe Potato kurma / Aloo kurma is very easy to prepare. It is one of the Andhra style recipe. It is also a perfect side dish for chapatti, Veg Biryani, rice and paratha. I make this recipe with Roti or Rice in my kitchen. We use to prepare this Potato Kurma with  coconut paste and it taste amazing. Actually am use in this curry some whole garam masala and garam masala powder also I used... Its very simple and taste curry... Little bit spicy and tasty it perfect to eat with rice roti, chapati what you like eat this curry... Its perfect to all combination recipes..... This is my amma signature recipe she will prepare very simple and taste recipe are prepare for my family... In this gravy we use dry or fresh coconut paste...... My amma will prepare this both fresh or dry coconut... But today am using dry coconut paste........ Its some great taste...  I usually make these kurma through very easy steps.......

Andhra Style Beetroot with Peanut and Coconut Powder Fry

       Today recipe is Beet Root Peanut Fry recipe.... I love beets when it is made into thoran like this. It has a sweeter taste and it smells so good your ground nut powder...  I loved the colour and look of this a lot. Have you ever cooked beetroot with peanut powder, if not you should definitely give a try to this combination. The sweetness of the beets mingle very much with the crunchiness and the nuttiness of crushed peanuts. some coconut pieces, red chilies... Its a great combination seriously until am trying this combination, I never knew that both beetroot and peanuts works simply prefect together in a dish. This dish is completely onion and garlic, it prefect to this recipe..... This stirfry takes hardly less time to get ready, just chopping may take some time, else you can make this dish in a jiffy. Apart from chopping the beetroots, you dont have nothing to chop. Obviously even a beginner can make this dish without anyone's help. Since I used fried peanuts, but you don't like to fry you can use raw peanuts also in this fry, nothing to do with the peanuts as well. Just crush them coarsely and add them to the stir fry. How easy na, this stir fry makes an excellent side dish for rasam rice and definitely an prefect side dish for chappathis.   • Onions 3
  • Peanuts 1/4 cup
  • Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil 5 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  • Coriander powder 1 tsp
  • Red chilies 3
  • Garlic cloves 4 to 5 nos
  • Dry / fresh coconut pieces 2 tbsp
  • Curry leafs
Preparation :-

  1. First take a wok add oil to heat when oil is heated, then add mustard seeds, cumin seeds to fry... Then add finely chopped onions, curry leafs again mix it then cook it for few minutes....

      Hi friends good after noon to all, today one different easy to make one recipe Yam Fry..... I like to eat, potato, taro root, sweet potato... in same breed veg is Yam (Kanda) is the most loved veggie of mine. I love it so much, You could give this whatever twist you like, it still taste great. I feel like this is kind of a meaty veg. And it can take whatever masala you put to them beautifully. Amma makes a simple yam curry's like yam curry, yam fry, yam roast, yam masala coconut paste gravy,, etc..., in my childhood my amma prepare this monthly twice , when i went to my school,  my amma prepare this for me lunch, that my  lunch box is not mine... that day all my friends take amy lunch box they are eat it... ha ha ha.... Those are sweet memories right guys...... I thick all my views memories are back to school right... Almost those days are golden to me..... Me and my amma & my grand mother there prepare daily spl to me.. Yams gives potassium and fiber and good source of Vitamin C and B6. It is cooking process is very easy at home.       Hi friends, today my recipe Banana Moong dal curry / fry...  One vegetable and different varieties of curries with it is the principle I follow while cooking. For example if I purchase Raw Bananas, I make curry with moong dal... My amma prepare this raw banana like fry, tomato banana curry, ginger garlic raw banana curry she prepare very well... But to day my amma recipe "Banana moong dal"... It is a very simple curry, a good accompaniment with rice. This I learned from my amma, she is a great chef in your family and also my sister also so good chef they both are.. Of course am also ha ha ha.... It will be eat in steam rice and combination is good to with Rasam also for side dish it to taste and delicious.......
