Hi friends, today recipe is "Pappu pongal". Its south Indian dish, its very famous in south Indian break fast recipe. In Andhra we specially prepared this recipe in morning break fast regularly. Almost in south side its compulsary prepare in restaurants, hotel. Not there in your temple also give to use prasadam. Its very traditional and its old recipe. In this pongal we prepare two types one is hot and spicy, another one is sweet pongal. Its both are very tradition recipes. I will give to share sweet pongal in my blog.. Its very tasty and delicious.. In my home we prepare this recipe weekly one time in our break fast menu. I love it so much. We use to ingredients also so simple, rice and moong dal. For more taste we use some ghee for different taste. Its very good to kids, its very healthy and tasty food "Pappu pongal". So try this recipe in your home, and enjoy the new delicious tasty of.. So lets see to how to prepare this taste recipe..
Ingredients :-
- Rice 1 cup
- Moong dal 1cup
- pepper powder 2 tbsp
- salt to taste
- water 6 cups
For fry:-
- Oil / Ghee
- Cumin seeds 1 tbsp
- Urad dal 1tsp
- Curry leaves
- Hing 1/4 tsp
- Red chillies 2
- Cashew nuts 10
- First take a cooker add rice, moong dal, salt, and then add water 5 cups, and then close with lid and boil it for 4 vissels.
- When the rice is boiled, and then put a side for 5 minutes. The pressure will gone and then open it cooker lid.
- Now open the cooker lid and then mix it well for. And then start next process to the pongal.
- Next take a wok add ghee, when ghee is heat and then add urad dal, jerra, mustard seed, red chilli pieces, cashew nuts, hing powder and add fry it 2 minutes and then add curry leaves.
- And then move it the mixture into pongal and then mix it well for, and then add pepper powder also add and then mix it well for.
- And then move it to a serving bowl and then serve it hot... And the spicy and hot "Pongal" is ready to eat...

- Coriander seeds 2 tbsp
- Tamarind lite bit
- Cumin seeds 1 tbsp
- Salt
- Oil 3 tbsp
