Carrot Bengal Gram with Coconut Fry How to Make

          Hi, today recipe Carrot Bengal Gram Dal with Coconut fry.... Its one of my favorite recipe, my amma prepare this regularly in my home... My amma weekly once she prepare for my lunch box.... My amma prepare so many variates with carrot, not only bengal gram, she makes with moong dal (yellow gram / pesarapappu), ginger garlic paste with tomato etc.., Its preparation is very simple and easy to make this fry, simple ingredients time also save.. Taste is really great. The thing to take care in this recipe is to not let the bengal gram overcook, it should hold shape and soft on bite. Garlic adds another layer of taste and is crucial along with fresh grated coconut. Sweet, spicy, flavorful dry saute that absorbs the tempering beautifully and goes well with rice and rasam. Lets see the process to make this fry step by step pics.......

Ingredients :-

  • Carrot 250 grams
  • Bengal gram 1/4 cup
  • Fresh coconut (grated or grind) 3 tbsp
  • Onions 3
  • Oil 6 tbsp
  • Urad dal 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  • Red chili powder 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander powder 1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves
Preparation :-

  1. First take a cooker add bengal gram close with lid boil it for 2 vissels then switch off the gas and then put it a side......
  2. Now take a wok add oil to heat, when oil heated then add urad dal, cumin seeds, mustard seed to fry. Then add chopped onions curry leaves and then mix it well for 1 minute...
  3. When onions are soft and then add chopped carrot, salt, turmeric powder and then mix it well for, then put the lid and the boil it for 5 minutes in low flame....
  4.  After 5 minutes open the lid mix it well for...... When carrot is soft and fried lite brown color like this...
  5. Then add boiled bengal gram again mix it well for....... Then put the lid and fry it for again 3 to 4 minutes in low flame.........

  6. After 3 minutes open the lid, mix it well for.... When dal is fried lite then add grind fresh coconut 2 tbsp, garlic crush, red chili powder and then mix it well..
  7.  And fry it for 1 minute then add coriander powder also add again fry it for 1 minute....
  8. After 1 minute then switch off then gas and then move it to a serving bowl.......
