Ridge Gourd Tomato Bengal Gram Coconut Curry Andhra Style

          Hi friends, today my mom's special recipe Ridge Gourd gravy recipe.. This is very simple to prepare and so fast to cook, its good to serve lunch box also less time o make this recipe... In this recipe am using bengal gram and coconut it very good combination... So friends lets move to recipe details......... 

Ridge Gourd Tomato Bengal Gram Coconut Curry
Ingredients :-


  • Ridge ground 1/4 kg
  • Bengal gram 1/4 cup
  • Fresh coconut 3 tbsp
  • Ginger small piece
  • Salt to taste
  • Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  • Red chili powder 1, 1/2 tsp
  • Onions 2
  • Tomatoes 2
  • Oil 6 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves
Preparation :-


  1. First take a cooker add bengal gram, water and boil it for 2 vissels then switch off the gas. Then cool it, when pressure is gone then open the lid and strain water and keep it a side.. Now take a pan add oil to heat, when oil is heated then add mustard seeds, cumin seeds to fry... Now add chopped onion and mix it well and fry it for lite pink color......
  2. When onions are soft then add chopped ridge gourd, chopped tomatoes, salt, turmeric powder mix it well for..... Fry it for 2 more minutes, and then add crush ginger and mix it well for, then close it with lid and boil it for again 2 more minutes...
  3. After 2 minutes, open the lid ridge is boiled then add boiled bengal gram water (When you use bengal gram boiled water will be use it) and mix it well for...... Then add red chili powder mix it then close it with lid and boil it for 2 more minutes.....
  4.  After 2 minutes then add crush fresh coconut mix it, then add curry leaves again mix it then leave it for 30 sec then switch off the gas and leave it for 1 minute then move it to a serving bowl......

           Hi friends, toady one different and tasty Andhra style Ridge Gourd Bengal Gram Dal Fry recipe (Beerakaya Senagapappu Talimpu).... Its very simple to prepare and so tasty.. One of my fav dish, my amma prepare this recipe monthly twice.. Not only this dish she will prepare with ridge gourd masala curry, onion fry, etc..., not only curry's and fries she will prepare chutneys also so tasty... Ridge Gourd Bengal Gram Dal Fry Recipe How to Make

Ingredients :-

  • Ridge Gourd (Beerakaya) 1/4 kg
  • Bengal Gram (Senagapappu) 1/4 cup
  • Onions 2
  • Urad dal 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Red Chili powder 1 tsp
  • Garlic cloves 3
  • Oil 5 tbsp
  • Curry leaves
Preparation :-

  1. First take a pan add bengal gram, water and boil it for 95%, then move it to a plate... Now take a pan add oil to heat, then add urad dal, cumin seeds, mustard seeds to fry, then add chopped onions to fry......

  2. When onions are fried then add chopped ridge gourd, salt, turmeric powder and mix it well for.... Now add curry leaves and mix it again, then close with lid and cook it for 2 minutes in low flame...... 
  3. After 2 minutes, open the lid and mix it well for. When ridge is soft (perfect soft) then add boiled bengal gram and mix it well for.......
  4. And cook it for 1 minute in low flame, then add crush garlic, red chili powder, pinch of salt and mix it well for.. And fry it for 30 sec and then switch off the gas......
  5. After 30 sec switch off the gas and put it for 1 minute and then move it to a serving bowl..
Now the dish is ready to serve with hot steam rice.... Its good to with rice and also serve this with side dish with pappu charu (tur dal charu) rasam... And also serve with roti, chapati...
